About LOOP DFS Ghana

LOOP DFS Ghana Ltd is a Bank of Ghana-licensed fintech and subsidiary of NCBA Group PLC, one of East Africa's leading banking groups. We deliver innovative digital financial services — including mobile lending, digital credit scoring, and merchant financing — to Ghanaian consumers and businesses through partnerships with mobile money operators and financial institutions.

Role Overview

As a National Service Personnel in Technical Support, you will work within the Technology team to support the maintenance, optimisation, and reliability of LOOP DFS Ghana's digital platforms, internal systems, and customer-facing fintech applications. This is a hands-on learning role offering direct exposure to a live fintech environment, agile development practices, and data-driven product operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first- and second-line technical support for internal users and operational systems, logging and tracking issues to resolution.
  • Assist in the testing, deployment, and monitoring of software updates and new product features on LOOP DFS platforms.
  • Support API integration testing between LOOP DFS systems and third-party partners (mobile money operators, banks, credit bureaux).
  • Document technical processes, system configurations, bug reports, and resolution steps in the team knowledge base.
  • Assist the development team with code reviews, unit tests, and quality assurance activities on backend and frontend components.
  • Monitor platform uptime dashboards and alert relevant teams to anomalies or performance degradation.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, and basic reporting queries using SQL and internal BI tools.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing observations from a support perspective.
  • Assist with cybersecurity hygiene tasks including access reviews, patch tracking, and incident log analysis.
  • Carry out any other technical assignments as directed by the Head of Technology.

Required Qualifications & Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility to undertake National Service under the Ghana National Service Scheme in the 2026/2027 service year.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, Java, or PHP preferred).
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, web services, and JSON/XML data formats.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and version control concepts (Git).

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Exposure to mobile money, fintech, or digital banking platforms (academic projects or internships welcome).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) at beginner level or above.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line environments.
  • Knowledge of containerisation tools (Docker basics).
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to documentation quality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team orientation with ability to work across functions.
  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced fintech environment.
  • Integrity and discretion in handling customer and system data.

What You Will Gain

  • Live exposure to a Bank of Ghana-regulated fintech operating at commercial scale.
  • Mentorship from experienced technology professionals within the NCBA Group ecosystem.
  • Practical experience with real-world fintech infrastructure, mobile money APIs, and digital credit systems.
  • A strong professional reference and potential consideration for full-time roles post-service.
